Taiwan’s drone exports jumped 749% year-on-year to US$11.9 million in the
first half of 2025, with Poland the top buyer at US$6.5 million or 54% of the
total, customs data showed. The United States and Germany followed with
purchases of US$1.6 million and US$1.5 million, while the Czech Republic and
Hong Kong rounded out the top five. Together, these markets accounted for
97 percent of exports.
Taiwan’s ICT strengths and manufacturing capacity have made its drones
attractive for both military uses, such as border security, and civilian
applications, including agriculture and infrastructure inspection.
In 2024, Taiwan established the Taiwan Excellence Drone International
Business Opportunities Alliance (TEDIBOA) to promote overseas sales,
bringing together more than 120 firms specializing in drone assembly,
components, and integration.
