At COMPUTEX Taipei 2026, Taiwan-based OTA software provider Carota demonstrated how technologies originally developed for connected vehicles are expanding into robotics and physical AI applications.
Working with Intel and Sensory AI, Carota showcased a robot barista powered by a centralized software platform that integrates robotic arms, coffee machines, and ordering systems. The platform enables real-time monitoring, remote software updates, and coordinated management across connected devices.
The demonstration highlighted the growing role of over-the-air (OTA) infrastructure as intelligent systems become increasingly software-defined. By enabling remote deployment of software updates, AI models, and new features, OTA technology can reduce maintenance requirements, minimize downtime, and improve scalability across large fleets of connected devices.
Industry participants said the same software-defined architectures that are transforming the automotive sector are increasingly being applied to robotics, industrial automation, and intelligent mobility systems, positioning OTA platforms as a key foundation for the emerging physical AI ecosystem.
