Nitto Denko Opens New Kaohsiung Manufacturing and R&D Facility

Nitto Denko (Taiwan) Corporation has inaugurated a new manufacturing and research facility in Kaohsiung following a US$140.3 million investment to expand production of high-performance materials.

Located in the Cianjhen Technology Industrial Park, the facility will produce polyvinyl chloride (PVC) sheets, PVC tapes, and electronic adhesive tapes for the global semiconductor and automotive industries. The company expects the expansion to add about US$6.3 million in annual revenue.

The new site combines manufacturing and R&D capabilities to strengthen product development and production efficiency. Officials said the investment highlights the close industrial partnership between Taiwan and Japan and reinforces Taiwan’s role in global semiconductor and automotive supply chains.

The Ministry of Economic Affairs said the government will continue supporting industrial upgrading and higher-value manufacturing as companies respond to growing demand driven by AI and evolving global supply chains.
