Ørsted has made the final investment decision for the 920 MW Greater Changhua 2b and 4 offshore wind farms in Taiwan, initiating the construction phase.
Onshore work and component fabrication will begin this year, with project completion slated for the end of 2025.
The wind farms will use suction bucket jacket foundations, marking their first installation in the Asia Pacific region.
Located off the Changhua coast, the project will feature around 65 wind turbines with individual outputs of 14 MW. By the end of 2025, Ørsted will have over 1.82 GW of operational offshore wind capacity in Taiwan.
