Formosa Taffeta Expands Bicycle Market with Carbon Fiber Fabrics

Following the successful introduction of tire carcasses and anti-puncture fabric made from recycled fishing nets, Formosa Taffeta is set to strengthen its position in the bicycle industry with carbon fiber fabrics. Companies like Schwalbe, Vittoria, CST, and Kenda have adopted these sustainable products for their tires.

Formosa Taffeta’s new carbon fiber products, showcased at the Taipei Cycle Show, promise lower energy consumption and reduced waste thanks to advanced production technology. The product range includes handlebars and forks.

“The potential of tire carcasses made from recycled fishing nets is still largely untapped,” said Formosa Taffeta sales manager Edward Lung. The company aims to expand its market presence in the bicycle industry and explore opportunities in the automotive sector, believing that the success of recycled fabric products is just beginning.
