Hon Hai Technology Group (Foxconn) has signed an MOU with Japan’s
Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corp. (MFTBC) to jointly develop zero-
emission (ZEV) buses.
The partnership, through subsidiaries Foxtron Vehicle Technologies and
Mitsubishi Fuso Bus Manufacturing, will focus on developing, producing, and
selling ZEV buses, starting with Foxtron’s Model T and Model U prototypes.
MFBM will serve as the operational hub for commercialization and explore
introducing both ICE and ZEV buses to global markets.
Hon Hai said the collaboration aims to accelerate clean mobility, strengthen
the Fuso brand, and expand R&D into Japan-made bus models. The
agreement follows a similar MOU signed in May between Foxtron and
Mitsubishi Motors for EV development.
MFTBC, majority-owned by Daimler Truck AG, is a leading Japanese
commercial vehicle maker known for innovations such as Level-2 automated
driving support in its Super Great Truck.
The deal is part of Hon Hai’s “3 plus 3” strategy, with EVs at the core of its
expansion into emerging industries.
