Infineon Technologies AG and Delta Electronics Inc have extended their partnership to include automotive applications with a view to producing more efficient and higher-density solutions for electric vehicles (EVs).
The partnership will use microcontrollers and high and low-voltage modules for EV drivetrain applications, including traction inverters, DC-DC converters and onboard chargers.
In addition to the collaboration, the firms are set to create a joint innovation lab to be named the Delta-Infineon Automotive Innovation Center.
Taiwanese company Delta is aiming to secure 15% of the global market for EV-related components and piles by 2030, an increase from the 8% held last year.
