Taiwan Forms AI University Alliance to Attract Future Talent

The Taiwan Artificial Intelligence College Alliance (TAICA), uniting 25 universities, launched this year to build a robust AI talent pipeline.

Despite aiming for 5,300 enrollments, only 2,527 students joined. To increase interest, private universities are offering financial incentives, including scholarships for course completion and substantial awards for certification.

Though some question the use of incentives, educators argue they’re crucial for attracting diverse talent, especially from lower-income backgrounds, to strengthen Taiwan’s AI capabilities.
