Taiwan’s Solomon Targets Growth in AI Vision for Robotics

Solomon Technology is aiming to expand its AI-powered vision business for robotics, Chairman Chen Jan-sun said, with applications extending into manufacturing, wearable devices, and imaging equipment.

Defect inspection remains the largest source of orders, while modularized vision software is helping the company strengthen its robotics presence. Its systems can be integrated into automated equipment and customized for clients, supporting tasks that are difficult to perform manually.

Chen said the company has improved vision stabilization, allowing robots to track targets accurately even while moving. However, challenges remain for humanoid robots, including limited object recognition range, hardware stability, and high training demands.
