Tatung has unveiled a 60MW energy storage facility in Dongshan, capable of storing 85,000 kWh—enough to power 8,000 households daily. The 1,600-square-meter facility includes 23 containers with battery modules, transformers, and power regulation systems.
President Shen Bo-yen emphasized the importance of energy storage in supporting Taiwan’s renewable energy goals, highlighting features like frequency control, real-time inertia measurement, and dynamic frequency modulation. The facility also enables energy storage during the day for nighttime use and integrates with a power trading platform.
Tatung, a key player in Taiwan’s energy infrastructure, has previously contributed to smart energy projects, including microgrid systems for outlying islands.
