The Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) has expanded its presence in the Arab countries by opening a new office in Saudi Arabia.
This move aims to help Taiwanese businesses capitalize on opportunities arising from Saudi Arabia’s economic transformation program, known as Saudi Vision 2030.
An MOU was also signed to foster closer economic ties. Taiwan’s expertise in sectors like smart mobility, food and agriculture, aerospace, entertainment, healthcare, and green energy could contribute to Saudi Arabia’s effort to diversify its economy away from oil.
Notably, Saudi Arabia is the only country in the Arab countries and North Africa that has an agreement with Taiwan to prevent double taxation, boosting investment and exchanges.
