The Taiwan Bicycle Association and international partners have initiated the “Sustainable Supply Chain Project” to enforce ten sustainable supply chain principles globally.
Highlighted at the 2024 Taipei Cycle Show, the project focuses on education, energy efficiency, and eco-design as its core pillars.
The initiative represents a collective effort to integrate sustainability into the bicycle industry’s practices. Key discussions at the event also covered battery legislation and the broader industrial transition towards sustainability.
Industry leaders shared insights on implementing these principles effectively, stressing the importance of consumer-driven eco-designs, such as the Schwalbe Marathon Green tyre, and the need for continuous innovation in recycling processes.
The project aims to unify existing national efforts into a global strategy, enhancing overall environmental impact, with strategic assessments and official project commencement planned for upcoming industry events.
