MediaTek Inc., Taiwan’s leading smartphone IC designer, unveiled its new Filogic 8000 family Wi-Fi 8 chipset at the 2026 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
The platform is designed for a wide range of devices, including broadband gateways, enterprise access points, smartphones, notebooks, tablets, TVs, streaming devices, and Internet of Things products. MediaTek said the technology aims to deliver more reliable connections as wireless environments grow increasingly crowded, supporting the performance demands of AI-driven applications.
The Filogic 8000 targets flagship and high-end devices, with samples expected to reach customers later this year. Potential adopters include major PC brands such as ASUS, Acer, and HP, along with Japan’s Buffalo, Taiwan’s Arcadyan, and Hon Hai Precision Industry, which builds AI servers and iPhones.
