CMC has launched its first electric truck, the ET35, with mass production set
for Q3. Designed for urban and rural deliveries, it offers a 360 km range and
features a fast-charging controller developed in-house, compatible with
CCS1.
The ET35 is the first mid-size commercial EV in Taiwan with a locally
developed Level 2 driver assistance system. CMC President Tseng Hsin-cheng
said the vehicle showcases collaboration between Taiwan’s auto and tech
sectors.
CMC partnered with local firms—including ITRI, Foxconn, and Chung Hua
Taiya—for chassis, batteries, and axles to support a domestic net-zero
ecosystem. The company is also working with HCT Logistics and local
governments on electric recycling fleets.
Consultant Chu Chen-hsing noted that switching to electric avoids reliance on
imported diesel and supports Taiwan’s industrial independence. After two
years of road testing, CMC says the ET35 offers valuable production data for
its supply chain.
