Taiwan’s biotech industry began 2026 with strong momentum, as more than 20 companies reported January revenue growth exceeding 20% year-on-year. Several firms, including Applied BioCode, Synmosa Biopharma Corporation, Vizionfocus Inc., and Vetnostrum Animal Health, achieved record monthly sales.
In the contact lens segment, Vizionfocus Inc. reported record January revenue of US$11.5 million, up 43.4% from a year earlier, while Visco Vision Inc. posted nearly 50% growth, supported by demand for premium silicone hydrogel products.
In diagnostics, Applied BioCode recorded revenue of US$2.5 million, up 88% year-on-year, driven by strong global demand for respiratory and influenza testing solutions.
Meanwhile, PharmaEssentia Corporation reported revenue of US$49.4 million, up 49.8% year-on-year and its second-highest monthly result on record, supported by continued global demand for its flagship therapy, Ropeg.
