Taiwan Power Co. (Taipower) plans to sell renewable energy to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Taiwan, aiming to help them meet carbon reduction targets.
The initiative addresses the difficulty SMEs face in accessing renewable energy through large-scale corporate agreements. Taipower will use a bidding platform to offer energy from its solar power installations, allowing SMEs to participate in renewable energy consumption.
It will mark Taipower’s first direct sale of green energy to end-users, with a pilot program. The program aligns with recent legislative changes, promoting greater access to renewable energy in Taiwan’s industrial sector.
