New vehicle sales in Taiwan surged 24.2% month-on-month in September to 36,532 units as buyers resumed activity after Ghost Month, a traditionally slow period.
According to U-Car.com, the figure represents a 1.5% drop from last year due to anticipation of new models launching later this year.
Imported brands, including Mercedes-Benz, Lexus, BMW, and Tesla, saw a 25.2% month-on-month increase, with Tesla leading in market share among imports.
Total vehicle sales dipped 1.6% year-on-year from January to September, but full-year sales may surpass 450,000 units. Hotai Motor led the market with a 33.9% share.
