Health Ministry Launches AI Centers for Smart Medical Care

The Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW) has approved subsidies for 16 hospitals to establish three types of AI centers: responsible AI implementation, clinical AI verification, and AI impact research centers.

The centers aim to enhance AI adoption in healthcare, address medical manpower shortages, and improve long-term care policies.

Health Minister Chiu Tai-yuan emphasized the potential of AI in advancing medical services and sustaining Taiwan’s healthcare system. The initiative will also help accelerate AI product certification and integration into Taiwan’s National Health Insurance system.
