TSMC has launched the “Eco Plus! – Ecological Harmony Program” to boost biodiversity conservation, targeting habitats, species, and knowledge. The initiative connects fragmented habitats, supports species survival, and rewards ecological research.
Expanding on its 2023 “Biodiversity Statement,” TSMC’s program promotes eco-friendly farming, green belts, and the conservation of six endangered species near its Taichung fabs. Collaborations with government, NGOs, and academia aim to educate and empower green conservation.
The program supports 96 ecological scholars and 63 research projects, enhancing public awareness and interdisciplinary communication. TSMC integrates technology and ecology with tools like the “Merlin App” for birdsong recognition and the “iNaturalist” database, inspiring industry action and public participation in biodiversity conservation.
